The sad news of former Mayor Dufreche passing just reached the members of the USS Ponchatoula Shipmates Association. What a wonderful man. Our first shipmates reunion that was held in Ponchatoula was in 2003 while he was the mayor. He and the citizens of Ponchatoula made the shipmates feel like celebrities or royalty. We all have very fond memories of Mayor Dufreche and the kindness and generosity of the citizens of the City of Ponchatoula. We look forward to a lasting relationship with the most patriotic little city in the country.

Lifting thoughts and prayers for you Janet and your children and family. So saddened to hear of Julian's passing.....I know our Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ, will carry you all through this difficult time.....and that He will give you all His peace which passes all understanding.....

I was fortunate to work with Julian through the Clerks' Association as I was serving as the Clerk for Rapides Parish......Enjoyed serving with him on various projects and committees.....I retired in 2011 and remember his well wishes at that time....

Thoughts and prayers shall continue for you all......

I am so very sorry to learn of Julian's passing. I was fortunate to know and work with him as a colleague when I was serving as Clerk of the First Circuit. He quickly became one of my "Clerk friends" soon after we assumed our offices and I am so saddened for all of you for your loss.

Words cannot express my sadness. May the comfort of God help you through this difficult time. Julian will truly be missed. He was a person that always wanted to help others. He supported me in my time of illness and for this I am thankful. I will miss seeing that smile. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
