She also greatly enjoyed reading and will be remembered by those closest to her as strong-minded and quick-witted. Above all, Helen loved spending time with her family and will be deeply missed by surviving daughters and sons-in-law: Rhonda Martin and husband Tommy, Terri Vicknair and husband John, Marianne Curet and husband Mark; six grandchildren: Matthew Martin and wife Kayla, Blake Martin and wife Amanda, Kari Vicknair, Amy Whittington and husband Billy, Katie Causey and husband Jared, Casey Curet and fiancé Alyssa Leger; and twelve great-grandchildren: Buddy, Carter, Amelia, and Bayleigh Whittington; Ella, Abby, and Avery Martin; Ashley, Melissa, and Bryan Vicknair; Brooks and Christian Causey.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Johnny Salassi; husband of fifteen years, Edwin Smith; husband of six years, Don Parmelee; husband of thirty-five years, Tommy Reese; and stepson, Dana Parmelee.

Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 from 1:00 pm until the Funeral Service begins at 3:00 pm at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 21947 LA-444, Livingston, La. 70754.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Helen showed me love and made me part of the family from the first day I met her.
She was truly everything I pictured a gracious southern belle to be. Dana loved her so as well as the rest of our family. My heart goes out to all the family and I must say all her wonderful traits have carried on in all of you. Helen peace be with you and praying God's glory is shining upon you! Take care of our loved ones that have left their earthly journey to the next.
