Condolence & Memory Journal

Samantha, Megan, Paul, I just heard about Claude's, I am so very deeply sorry for your loss...my internet has been out since the storm and I just received the message yesterday. You know I would have been there to talk with you all at her service. I most certainly would have stopped by and reminisced with Claudia before. She and I had a special bond with Sam from the moment I started teaching her at St. Joseph.
Please give Sam my love
I say prayers for all of you since I found this out. I am saddened and know that she is at peace now with our Savior.

Paul, Sam, and Meghan, I was shocked and saddened to hear of Claudea's passing. I know this is so difficult for all of you. Claudea and I had some good times in college, all of which are recorded in my diaries! Our trip to Las Vegas with grandma Oddie was a highlight, seeing Robert Goulet, Connie Stevens, Ruth Buzzy, Frank Sinatra and lots more. Being director of her feeder band program when she taught Walker High Band was a different chapter in life. We had to be grown-ups then! Just years and years of memories. And now, a different chapter of life begins. I know that you three will give each other strength during this time and I wish you the best. I am sorry I cannot be there on Saturday since I now live in North Carolina. Love to you all, Tren Alford.

To Claudea's Family,
I was terribly saddened and surprised to hear of Claudea's untimely passing. She and I were friends and coworkers at Walker High many years ago. We used to share stories and our wish to open a Hallmark store. I remember her bringing one of Miss Olga's Italian cream cakes to school for us to enjoyyummy! She was a wonderful teacher, band director, mother and friend. May she rest in peace. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Paul, I am so sorry to hear of Claudia's transition from here to Heaven. My God give you and you daughters the strength to stand strong during this period of sadness. You are in my prayers. I will always remember her smile and laugh as I reflect over the days past.

Claudea taught all 4 of my children at Vinyard and PJH. She was a great teacher with a lot of patience (I didn’t raise any angels.) Claudia and I later played in the Community Band and crossed paths many times over the years, including at the grocery when I was without my checkbook and she paid for my groceries. She truly was a special lady. I know she will be missed by many in the community, and especially by her family, but what a beautiful addition to that trombone section in the heavenly band. I am out of town so I cannot pay my respects in person. for the Landry family.
