Tribute & Message From The Family
Courtney Allen Ridgedell (age 40), beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021.
Courtney's family meant the world to her. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Fletcher Ridgedell, and her three sons Tyler (age 12), Ryan (age 10), and Kyle (age 5). Courtney is also survived by her parents, Wayne and Jennifer Allen, brother and sister-in-law, Brandon and Jacqueline Allen, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Courtney was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. She was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Nursing. She began her career as a registered nurse at Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, but she soon found her second passion, teaching. Courtney worked in the education department at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond, LA.
When Courtney wasn't teaching, you could find her on a ball field watching and many times coaching one of her three boys. Courtney played fast pitch softball in high school and college and never lost her love for the sport.
Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, LA on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 9:00 to 11:00 am. A funeral service will begin at 11:00, conducted by Reverend Drew Sutton, Sr. Pastor at First United Methodist Church, where Courtney was a lifetime member. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in her name to the Autism Research Institute (www.autism.org ) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.
A Funeral Service will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond on Monday at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.

It was a blessing to know Courtney through church and see what a beautiful person she was. She was devoted to her family and passionate about her career.
