Tribute & Message From The Family

Kathleen "Kathy" Rose Cleland Joiner, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 75. She was born on June 22, 1946, in Bogalusa, Louisiana to the late Ethel Revere Cleland and the late John Edward Cleland. A resident of Ponchatoula, Kathy was an artist whose love for her family, friends, music, the Tangipahoa River, and Louisiana culture was frequently expressed through both her works of art and the vibrant spirit in which she lived. Combined with her raw talent, Kathy possessed an adventurous and entrepreneurial spirit that led her to successfully manage Lloyd E. Joiner Construction Company and start her own sign business. Her zest for life inspired all those she loved and shared time with across communities of fellow artists, sign-makers, and riders in the Baton Rouge Spanish Town parade.

Kathy is survived by her children, Brett Bennett (Dorinda), Todd Joiner, Floyd Joiner (Carla), Bonnie Alice Daigle (Clayton), and William Joiner (Tressa); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Bruce Cleland (Nora), Linda Ostendorf (Ken), Brenda Malley (Kinsley), Dodie Clouse; and sisters at heart, Midge Magee and Gale Bennett.

In addition to her parents, Kathy is also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Eli Joiner; son, Lloyd Wayne Joiner; and brother, Ralph Cleland.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Thursday, March 24, 2022, beginning at 10:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 1:00 PM. Services will be conducted by Reverend Glynn Fendlason.

Dear Bonnie and family, was so saddened to learn of Kathy's passing. She was such a wonderful loving person. Way back in 1988 she and Mr Lloyd blessed my family more than people know. She was an open example of being a real Christian!!!
