Carmelite Cucchiara DePaula passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 86. She was born on Monday, May 4, 1931 in Independence, Louisiana to the late Jacomina Biundo Cucchiara and the late Frank Cucchiara. She was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana. Carmelite is survived by her sons, Russell DePaula, John DePaula and his spouse Dr. Robert Wildin, and Darryl DePaula (Jackie Walker); sisters Jerri Dureau, Mary Flowers, and JoAnn Goodrow; brother, Peter Cucchiara, and grandchildren, Rose, David, and Joseph DePaula. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Cucchiara and Jacomina Biundo Cucchiara; husband, Dr. Joseph T. DePaula; and son, Frank David DePaula. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 601 North Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
