Claire Gauthier Fendlason, resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 13, 2021, surrounded by her family at the age of 84. She was born on Monday, October 5, 1936, in Buras, Louisiana, the daughter of the late John Pierre and Blanche Pelas Gauthier. Claire was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

Claire is survived by her children and step-children, Angela Sterken(Tillman), Georgette Lamprecht(Gary), Andrea Ragan(Boo), Jim Fendlason(Linda), George Fendlason(Nell), Pam Johnson(Russell), 8 grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Chloe Lamprecht, Eli Lamprecht, Chad Sterken, Charles Ragan, Chris Fendlason, Rebekah Ledford, and Rusty Johnson; 5 great-grandchildren, brother, Hewitt Gauthier(Margaret), sister, Joan Gonzales, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Andrew Fendlason, son-in-law, Charles Raymond Smith Jr., sister, Shirley Ditta, sister, Verda Portier, sister, Clara Buras.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Tuesday at 11:00 am, with Fr. Cayet Mangiaracina, O.P. officiating.

Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Hammond, Louisiana.

The family would like to thank the staff at Vital Link Home Health and New Century Hospice for the outstanding care Mrs. Claire received.
