Dr. Marty Michael Flint, of Loranger, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Friday, March 5, 2021, at the age of 67. He was born on February 16, 1954, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the son of the late Clint Flint and Theresa Purpera. Dr. Flint graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge with a Bachelor of Science, and then received his D.D.S. in 1981 from LSU in New Orleans. For 15 years he was in private practice in New Roads, Louisiana, and in 1993 received certification in Forensic Dentistry. Dr. Flint spent several years helping make soldiers mission ready at numerous military bases around the United States. He also practiced in Boise, Idaho for 15 years. In addition to his extensive career in dentistry, Marty was an avid hunter and fisherman with a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

Marty is survived by his wife of 37 years, Martha Southall Flint; step daughters, Barbara Monistere (Joseph), Patricia Sanchez (Ricky) and Deborah Switzer; step grandchildren and their families, Ronnie Bergeron Jr. (Misty), Tiffany Goings (Chris), Amie Bergeron (George), Michael B. Switzer (Amanda) and Dustin Switzer (Samantha); brother, Dr. Kevin Flint (Carole); sisters, Gretchen Flint and Terri Flint; nephews, Dustin and Kyle Flint and their families.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, with Rev. Leon Dunn officiating.

Interment will follow at Loranger Community Cemetery in Loranger, Louisiana.
