Elsie Marie Gremillion Wyble passed away March 12, 2021 , in Hammond, Louisiana. Elsie was born to Aris Gremillion on October 4, 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was united in marriage to Alfred L. Wyble, Jr. on April 20, 1963, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Elsie grew up in Bay Hills and graduated from Evergreen High School in Evergreen, Louisiana, in 1959. She met her husband, Alfred, while working at the Louisiana Creamery in Baton Rouge.

Elsie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She served as a room mother for both her sons for several years and was also a Boy Scout den mother in Baker, Louisiana. When her sons were older, Elsie went to work at the Baton Rouge Zoo. She attended as many of her grandchildren's fu nctions as possible while her health allowed. Elsie had an adventurous spirit. In her lifetime she hiked up a waterfall, went on several cruises, discovered new sights in many states, took helicopter tours, and flew in a small plane piloted by her son. She enjoyed bowling, playing Pokeno, making ceramics, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was a fantastic cook. It's impossible to sum up Elsie's life in a few words on a page. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.

Elsie is survived by her husband, Alfred , of 57 years; sons Ri chard (wife Tammy) and Steve (wife Miriam); treasured grandchildren, J ordan and Julia, and a host of other family and friends whom she dearly loved. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Aris Gremillion, and her brother, Weldon Dubroc.

Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, on Monday, March 15, 2021, from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church celebrated by Father Cayet Mangiaricino. Entombment will follow in Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum. All who attend Elsie's services are asked to follow social distancing guidelines and to wear facial coverings.
