Ernie Anderson passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 71. He was born on Tuesday, September 5, 1950 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana to the late Geraldine Coates Anderson and the late John Edward Anderson. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. He was known as "Poppy" to his loving grandchildren and many others.

Ernie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Georgette Baughman Anderson; children, Kimberly Thibodeaux (Eric), Lauranie Henderson(Kris), Erin Anderson, and Joey Anderson (Abby); grandchildren, Logan, Collin, Carson, Jonathan, Matthew, Isabella, Sophie, Nicholas, Lily-Kathryn, and Molly-Grace; and siblings, Jerrymae Louk (Russ), Eddie Anderson (Dianne), and Cindy Pigott (Steve).

In addition to his parents, Ernie was also preceded in death by his sister, Dona "Sissy" Patterson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Friday March 11, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will continue the following day, Saturday, March 12, 2022 beginning at 11:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 1:00 PM.

Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery, Springfield, Louisiana.
