Fred Huber of Hammond passed away at the age of 80 on the morning of August 29, 2021. He was a chemical engineer with DuPont for his entire working career but was known in his neighborhood as "Mr. Fixit." He could take care of electrical, plumbing and structural problems and anything else that came along.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diane, daughter Suzanne LeBeau, daughter Jeannie Bischoff (Barry), son Daniel Huber (Celia), and "adopted" daughter Cynthia Adams. He also leaves behind his sister Kathy, four wonderful grandchildren, two great step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He, his wit, his intellectual knowledge on any subject and his repair skills will be missed. He was well loved.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. Hammond, Louisiana 70401 with visitation from 9:00 am until 11:00 am and an "I remember" time and funeral service will begin at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcome at The Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
