Frits Fredrickus Fynaut ended his journey on earth on Saturday, January 13, 2018, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 75. He was born on Saturday, May 16, 1942, in Breda Holland to Antoon and Leuntje Fijnaut. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Frits is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dorothea Fynaut; children, Brigette and Kevin Lopez, Nicole and Richard Davis, Alexis Fynaut, Patrick Fynaut and Ciera Bender, and Calli Fynaut; grandchildren, Marc Lopez, Leslie and Tim McAfee, Nickolas Fynaut, Kara Lopez, Allison Davis, Brandon Davis, Kaliyah Fynaut, and Kyler Fynaut; great grandchildren, Emma McAfee, Tucker Lopez and one on the way; siblings, Aledia Bowers, Carl Fynaut, Madga de Sonnaville, Joke van der Laan, Ada van der Broek, Freda Thielan, Jos Fijnaut, and Margot Schuurs; his faithful companion Tokyo; numerous nieces and nephews, all who loved to see Uncle Frits come to visit; brothers of ECV 13.

He was preceded in death by his children, Hans and Janus Fynaut; sister, Yvonne Karthaus.

Frits will always be remembered in town as the man on the scooter with the white dog.
