George Elwood Herron, Sr., of Holden, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the age of 75. He was born on July 30, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of the late Melvin C. Herron, Sr. and Vera Mae Dugas Herron. George was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and a retired 1st Officer of the Louisiana Chapter of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club.

George is survived by his children, Debbie Cambre (Charles), George Herron, Jr., Madeline Dufrene, and Katelyn Danos; grandchildren, Cody Herron, Bria Durio (Cody), David Cambre (Lindsey), Faith Cambre, Emily Cambre, Angelle Herron, Donovan Allo, Jordan Allo, Alyssa Allo, Alexis Allo, Harlee Millien, and Houston Danos; great grandchildren, Levi, Lily, Steven, and Eli; sisters, Laura Andre (Orv), Rose Tassin, Irene Demoran, Sissy Gerald (Ronnie), Sue Hebert (Clem), and Jeanne Willoughby (Larry); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Herron, Jr.

Family and friends will be received at Celebration Church, 28975 S. Satsuma Rd. Livingston, Louisiana 70754 on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm

A Memorial Service will begin on Thursday at 1:00 pm. There will be a reception held immediately following the service at the church.
