On August 24, 2018 our hearts were broken as our beloved mother and friend, June "JuJu" Koles Olah passed away. She was born in the Hungarian Settlement on May 11, 1940 to Frank Louis and Margaret Vassil Koles. She lived a wonderful childhood on a strawberry farm in a home filled with love, laughter, family and friends.

June went on to become a teacher and mentor at Springfield schools where her love of reading and writing could be shared with her students and peers. She always spoke of her co-workers who became lifelong friends and students that she never forgot.

Her undying devotion for God began at St. Margaret's Catholic Church and her faith guided her every step in life. Her children and grandchildren were blessed to have a mother who they would describe as perfect - always expressing her love through her words and actions. She loved and considered her children's spouses as her own. She instilled in them to build lives filled with love, respect, honor, and faith in God. Her greatest joy in life was her two grandchildren. She absolutely adored them and made sure that they knew it along with every single person she met.

Three weeks ago she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Even through her illness, the doctors, nurses and hospital staff always commented on her beautiful smile. The only solace in losing her is knowing that she was welcomed through the gates of Heaven by her Lord and Savior, the Blessed Mother, her parents - whom she never stopped missing - grandparents, aunts and uncles, and her two dogs Tookie and Hannibal.

Affectionately called JuJu, she is survived by Robert "Bobby" Olah, her children and their spouses, Dawn and Frank Fekete and Christopher and Pamela Olah, and her greatest loves - her grandchildren, Baleigh Christian Olah and Justin Henderson and Ethan Jameson Olah and Ellen Hymel. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Margaret Ann and John Boudreaux, and her brother Frank Louis Koles,III. She thought of her sister-in-laws as sisters, and they are Buck and Mitzi Olah Grantham, Edmond and Linda Olah Harris, and Glen and Kathy Olah Kreko. She is also survived by aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. One of her great joys in life was spending time with her lifelong friends she lovingly called her sisters - Rosemary, JoAnn, Virginia and Annette.

She admired and respected every one of her doctors, nurses, staff and care at Ochsner Hospital. She especially appreciated Dr. Abdullah and Dr. Kim who were exceptionally nice to her.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Margaret's Catholic Church in her name. Her love and faith in God never wavered and she would be very happy to know the church was able to continue to offer all the blessings it gave to her in her life to others because she lived. Thanks to Father Jamin David, who shared her love and dedication to her faith and St. Margaret's Church - his friendship made her smile. In memory of our sweet JuJu, please remember to serve God, love your country, love your family, and be kind to all you meet.

The visitation and mass will be held Monday, August 27, 2018, at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Albany, Louisiana, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the mass at 1:00 p.m. and burial to promptly follow at St. Margaret's Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Christopher Olah, Franklin Fekete, Ethan Olah, Justin Henderson, Glen Kreko, and Edmond Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be John Boudreaux, Buck Grantham, and Frank Koles.

Her family would like to extend a special thanks for all the kind words and messages, food, and flowers we have received in our time of great loss; this would make JuJu smile.
