Laura Maxine Hoover Obituary

Laura Maxine Hoover, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at the age of 94. She was the daughter of the late Marion Francis Wainwright and Audrey Belle Vineyard Wainwright. Laura was a longtime member of Coburn Baptist Church in Hammond.

Laura is survived by her children, Linda Allotto, Joan Mechiel, and Harold Berlin Hoover, Jr. (Phyllis); grandchildren, Johnny Allotto (Hina), Vickie Askew (Walter), Daryl Hoover (Laura), and Michael Hoover (Richelle); great grandchildren, Liam, Brooke, Lia, Linnae, Roman, Lane, John, and Stephanie; sister, Dorothy Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her sons, Johnnie and Jessie Mechiel.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow at Hoffman Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
