Peter "Pete" Michael DiBenedetto, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away at the Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond on Monday, August 20, 2018 at the age of 92. He was born on May 13, 1926, in Tickfaw, Louisiana the son of the late Antonino DiBenedetto and the late Sarah Giaratino DiBenedetto. Pete proudly served in the U.S. Navy.

Pete is survived by his sons, Anthony DiBenedetto and his wife Polly, Roy David DiBenedetto and his wife Rachel, Dr. Jeff DiBenedetto, and Herman Earl DiBenedetto; grandchildren, Dustin DiBenedetto, Brody DiBenedetto, Luke DiBenedetto, Lani DiBenedetto, Amanda Green, Katie LaFontaine, and Brian DiBenedetto; great grandchildren, Jude DiBenedetto, Maggie Grace Green, Allie LaFontaine, and Cale LaFontaine; brothers, Frank DiBenedetto and Tony DiBenedetto; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Josephine Elizabeth DiBenedetto; and siblings, Corrine Nuccio, Rose Nuccio, Petress DiBenedetto, Leon DiBenedetto, Philip DiBenedetto, and Joe DiBenedetto.

Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 9:30 am until the Funeral Mass begins at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 Hwy 442, Tickfaw, Louisiana 70466, with Fr. Michael Galea officiating.

Interment will follow at Pompeii Cemetery in Tickfaw, Louisiana.
