Rose Ethel Kovach Kreko passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 96. She was born on Sunday, April 4, 1920, to the late Elizabeth Bartus Kovach and Steve Kovach and was a lifelong resident of Albany, Louisiana.

Rose is survived by her son, Joseph "Wayne" Kreko; son and daughter-in-law, Glen Michael and Kathy Kreko; granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Kreko; and great-granddaughter, Madelyn Grace "Mattie" Davis. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph P. Kreko; parents, Elizabeth B. and Steve Kovach; and seven siblings, Geza Kovach, Frank Kovach, Steve Kovach, John Kovach, Elizabeth Kovach, Julia Kovach, and Helen Noch.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:00 am. Visitation will begin at 8:00 am and will continue until service time.

Interment will follow in Greenlawn Garden Mausoleum in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Albany Hungarian Presbyterian Church, 30767 Presbyterian Church Rd., Albany, LA 70711, in memory of Rose.
