Thomas Leto Perkins "Tommy" was born on April 8, 1958. He met his heavenly father on February 3, 2021 at his lifelong home in Independence, Louisiana. Tommy was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend. He embodied the spirit of a caregiver and a protector and exemplified that through his family, friends and neighbors. Jesus and family took precedence over anything else in his life. Tommy was a loyal friend and showed his concern for people by always being willing to help. Tommy loved his niece and nephew like his own children. He had a great love for martial arts and music. He loved playing bass guitar, singing, and karaoke.

Thomas is survived by his mother, Tina Leto Perkins; son, Christopher Rowe; sisters, Tammy Perkins Amar (who Tommy called "kid") and Brenda Sajourner (Mike); nieces/nephews, Jessica Hung (Zachary) and Justin Ridgel (Shelby); aunt, Mary Ida Dyer; cousins, Richard Russell (Debra), Glenn Russell and Brittany Desselle (Al) and three great nieces/nephews who he adored.

He is greeted in heaven by his wife, Barbara Perkins; his dad, Thomas U. Perkins; and his grandparents, Cosmo and Mary Leto, and Mary Ann and William Perkins.

Visitation for Family and Friends will be on Sunday, February 7, 2021, from 11:30 am until the Funeral Service begins at 2:30 pm, at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, La. 70401.
