Tucker Sherman Jones, 88 years old of Loranger, LA passed away Saturday February 26, 2022 in Richland, MS. He was born on August 23, 1933 in Taylorsville, MS son of the late Obie and Minnie Jones. He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Marc & Kimberly Jones; grandchildren, Tyler & Leigh Anne Jones April (Justin); nephew & family, Joe, Susan & Joseph Wood; cousin, Sue Sherman; and Opal Mayeux and her children Daniel Mayeux & Jessica Brown. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Dimple Arender Jones; son, Michael Timothy Jones; brother Herschel Jones and sister Brunell Prater.
He retired from the United States Air Force serving in Korea and with the Louisiana Air National Guard. Subsequently, he served in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary as the 4-11 Ponchatoula Flotilla Commander and the District 8 Coastal Region Commander out of New Orleans.
Visitation (9am - 1pm) and Services (1pm) will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, LA. Interment will follow in the Loranger Community Cemetery, Loranger LA. An online guest book is available at www.harrymckneely.com.
