Willie Chauvin, Jr. passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at his residence in Loranger, Louisiana, at the age of 75. He was born on August 14, 1946, in Marrero, Louisiana to the late Enola Estay and the late Willie Chauvin Sr. Willie spent a majority of his career as a Push Boat Captain on the Mississippi River. A true southern outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and cook. He was a loving, compassionate and caring person to everyone he knew. His true passion was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Willie was unique and caring, but most of all, well-respected and liked by those friends he met along the way. His legacy and spirit will remain in the many memories of his friends and family until we meet again.
Willie is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Maria Dufrene Chauvin, their children, Melissa and Donald Needham (Loranger), Willie Chauvin III (Franklinton), Brad and Melissa Chauvin (Mandeville), and grandchildren Candace Terese, Brindell Brigham, Willie Alexzander Chauvin, Alivia Ellen, and Brad Chauvin, Jr, his great grandchildren, Kaeden, Konner, Kaleb, Tucker, Kenzie, Niklous and Charlotte. He is also survived by his siblings Doris Franklin, Ray Chauvin, Judy Larocca and Bobby Chauvin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Chauvin Sr.; mother, Enola Estay; siblings, Verlie Dequant, Betty Savoie, Bessie Falcon, Diann Nichols, Larry Chauvin, Harry Chauvin, and David Chauvin.
As were his wishes, no services will be held.
